Shuttertown

(Tera Nova Zarra)
Tera Zarra
Flipped over the fence and I went looking for a challenge.
Living in Shuttertown you have to learn to scavenge.
Daddy wants me earning with a sponge and a boa.
Momma, somehow I'll always be an aikidoka.

Sensei, I don't know if I can call you that.
Learned to fight boredom. Use ukemi for stage combat.
Hip throws, dive rolls, 7 hearts 7 souls.
7 graves, 7 holes, 7 days, no control.

In shutter town you might forget to get down.

It was easy to forget history and science.
It's harder to forget to hide my defiance.
It's harder to forget my lament
That compliance has its drawbacks in the age of consent.

My teeth fall out, in my dreams.
I think grow bigger ones and bite harder is what it means.
Then a woman with wings chases me down.
She says, "You have to build something!" Then I wake up in Shuttertown.
